Reviews of the Heartland series
I love, love, love the Heartland books. I also love Lauren Brooke. She's a great author. The plot of each story seems so realistic, like you're actually witnessing everything happen. The setting is good, too, for horse-country Virginia. Every new book encourages you to want to read on and on and then read the next one in the series. Horses are the best animal in the world and this book is devoted to them so that's another great thing. I love the Heartland series and encourage you to read them if you haven't before! -- horsez101

The Heartland series is AWESOME, the stories in each book are amazing and I've be reduced to tears more than once ( True ) !! Lauren Brooke is an Ooober kool writer, My favorite!! The series tells the story of Amy and her friends and family REALLY well, Lauren Brooke is obviously a brilliant writer of human issues and all that!! I agree with many people when I say AMY and TY for ever, even though they break up!! I've still got my fingers crossed for them getting back together ! ! :P What I like about the series ( Everything ) is the human and horse relationship!! Its cute!! I love the Heartland series. Ty and Amy seem so right together. I'm not to fond of Amy going to college, but that's how the books are written. Lauren Brooke has a good way of telling the series. I don't like the fact that Ty and Amy break up either. I love all the horses on there and it was so sad when Amber and Pegasus died. I loved all the twists and turns in this series. I haven't read Chestnut hill, but I still think that Heartland is by far the best! -- Horse lover

I started reading Heartland books about a month ago. I finish them in about a day as they are so good. They're really hard to find in shops though. I got Sooner or Later and it made me cry when she had to sell storm 'cos she didn't have enough time for him. I LOOOOOOOOOVE THE BOOKS. HEARTLAND IS SUCH A GREAT BOOK SERIES. I FIRST GOT BOOK #3 at our library and I wasn't too interested in it but when I read it I fell in love with it. I asked my mom to buy all of them. She bought me 1-17, I'm still reading them, and they're great. I can't wait to buy the rest of them. Ty and Amy are so perfect, I love them. Of all the books that I have read (and that's a lot) these books are by far the best. I love horses more than the anything in this world and every time something good or bad happens in the books, I can be Amy and see how I would feel if I were her. I work on a horse ranch and when our horses act up I try and help the owners find out why. The things that are said in these books are incredible and the problems that she had to face after her mom's death. She is amazing and strong. Thanks for making such wonderful books. -- pickle
Heartland is such a good series. Before the summer of '07, I hated to read. But since I started reading the Heartland series, I can't stop reading them! I only have 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, Beyond the Horzion, and A Winter's Gift. But I can't wait 'til I get all of them. I can't see why u stopped writing them, they are so good. -- courtney r

I love the Heartland book series! I have read books 1-20 & "A Holiday Memory" they were gr8! I am sad that there are more & I haven't read them yet.. I am going to buy them ASAP. I personally don't enjoy reading, but when it comes to Heartland books, I love reading them & I read them in like a day. I am a true horse lover. I find myself relating to amy a lot when I read the books. Every time I read them, I cry in the sad parts. Lauren is a great writer! Keep the Heartland books coming. -- Linda
I had never heard about Heartland before until courtney, my sister, told me about them! I am reading the first book and almost on the second. They are great books and I love them. I love the Heartland series, it's the best!! Although I have not read the latest edition to this series, I think it's going to be just as good as the rest. I wish that Amy and Ty will get back together -- they don't seem like the breaking up type to me. They both have a bond that can't be erased and in time I hope they realize the error of their ways. That bond goes beyond friendship and in time they will have to face that. I am also glad that the series didn't end. The series makes me happy each and every time I pick it up. These books are amazing! When you read them it's like you are overcome by happiness and excitement. I can relate a lot to Amy, and when I read these books it feels like I am really there. I have recently moved and had to give away my horse but by reading these books, they have helped me to still enjoy horses and feel the love they bring. I was so attatched to these books that I finished the whole series in only a few weeks. Now that there are no more books, I feel like I lost my bestest friend. I hope Lauren Brooke will go back to writing the Heartland books and I hope that if you are reading this you are inspired to read these books. -- Kyra
I love the heartland series, it is by far the best series. The best books ever written, personally. My favorite books in the series are 1, 13, 15, 7, and all of the Heartland books. It is much more to me than books about horses. It has inspired me so that I now know what to do with my life. I want to do horse rescue, care and love that they DESERVE. Heartland is where Marion, Amy, and Ty help horses that have been abused or neglected or are now frightened. When Marion dies & Amy gets injured, Lou comes to help out. Amy has to basically fix the frightened horses---she turns into a horse whisperer. READ THESE BOOKS THEY HAVE CHANGED MY LIFE IN GOOD WAYS. Buy it & you'll not want to put it down. I totally L-O-V-E all the Heartland books I read, over half of the published ones. Amy's heart and emotional, instinctive personality works really well with her work at Heartland. She is nowhere near practical and sensible like Lou, which actually helps her "listen to the horses" and treat them according to more than science and logic, but she is organized--otherwise there would be no chance of her riding in shows. As for myself, I would have chosen to show more if I had the choices Amy had, the talent in myself and my horse to compete. I found all the characters interesting, even Ashley, because I have a knack for liking all the main characters, and even the snooty ones no one else likes. Amy's personality and undoubted love for horses drew me into the book so much more. The innovative plot and creative character personalities were great as well. Lauren Brooke's use of adjectives is another thing I love about Heartland. A thumbs-up to Heartland! :) -- horse_lover

Heartland is the best series ever!!!!!!! I actually feel like I am Amy and every time I read one I can't stop until I am done. I have always liked reading but now I adore it and I feel like if I don't read I am going to die or the worlds come to an end. I hope that Lauren never stops writing Heartland or if she ever decides to read some more of her online message bords all of them say KEEP WRITING HEARTLAND!!!!!!!! I could not get into Chestnut Hill but it really can't even compare to Heartland. I am sooooo excited that A Summer To Remember is coming out soon. Heartland is a wonderful series! Its realistic situations and personalities of the characters really add depth to it. It is far superior to the new Chestnut Hill series, which is good as well. But nothing measures up to the love and heartbreak that we all faced in reading the Heartland books. It seems that no one can let it go, considering there have been 3 more books than originally planned. =P But I hope Lauren Brooke continues to deliver that same great read that you just can't seem to put down. -- Satoshi
I love Heartland! It's my favorite book series. I love all the drama--from the joy of a new foal--to the crying death of a horse. It makes me hold my breath, gasp in horror, make my eyes water and grin from ear to ear. There are many series I love to read, but Heartland will always be my favorite! -- Sommy
I just want to say that Lauren is the best, best, best author. Out of the many books that I have read the Heartland series is the best. I hope you do continue to write these amazing books. They have inspired me so much that I have worked with my horse Sunrise, a Tennessee Walking Horse, a great deal more than before. I have put much more effort into her than I ever thought I would. My favorites are 12, 13, 14, and all of them. I don't have favorites. They are all to good to choose over. I just want you (Lauren) to know that I love you writing, as for the probably millions of others do. I hope you continue to write these FABULOUS books for as long as you live. These books are intriguing, detailed, eye-catching, and wonderful. They have inspired me to become a doctor for both animals and humans. I feel as though everything should have a second chance. The Heartland series is the bomb! I have read all of the books and I think all of the special books. I absolutely love the whole series. Lauren Brooke, keep writing the Heartland series!!!!! I really enjoy them and think that Lauren has incredible talent in the writing area. I, however, have no writing talent at all. Anyone who likes horses should definitely read her books. Every heartland book is absolutely amazing. I mean, WOW! There are 2 special editions that I don't have and 1 that isn't out yet. I can't wait for it to come out. I think Heartland books are AMAZING they teach u soo much about horses and how u should treat them, because horses don't desereve to be beaten or put in a stuffed trailer to be taken to slaughter. They don't deserve to be eaten either...."Using not abusing". Whoever LOVES horses should read and start having a proper relationship with your horse by using join-up, by using T-touch and remedies. I picked up number 3. I liked horses and it looked pretty good. BUT, now I L-O-V-E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! them, I'm on #12 at the moment but I've been buying all of them now. These books have helped me. They've let me love horses again! Whoever reads this, if you love horses this is the book for you. I gave them a try and now I love reading. My family thought I would fail just becase of reading. I am a new reader but I love the books! My BFF Nichole got me hooked!!!!! In book #3 ch 9 I can't believe Pegasus died (I cried!!!!!!!!!!!) and I hope Ty and Amy need to get back together. It's too bad that Amber died, she and Daniel were so close. I can't believe Amy had to get rid of Summer Storm(tear), but good thing he is going to Nick's and that Daniel is taking care of him. I have read most of the Heartland series. I got the whole set of 20 books 2007 Xmas. I'm on book 5, "Come What May". The books I've read so far really give you a great picture in your head. It's so real I could probably draw Heartland. The messages written at the front makes it feel like Heartland is a real place and the characters are real people. I think Heartland is a real place in Virginia and Amy and people are real. Lauren writes the books as if she is seeing all this stuff. She's having like a flashback or dream and no one can see her. Heartland is the best book series ever! I love these books sooooo much. Every single one just pulls you in and you can't get out. Sometimes when I have to stop in the middle of the chapter I feel like I turned off the show I have been watching for hours. Heartland is not one of those books where it is always perfect all the time. Bad things do happen!! A lot of authors need to know that. That is one of the many reasons I love this series. I have never met a series of book that I want to read over and over again. Lauren Brooke has a gift of capturing the reader and I adore both Chestnut Hill and Heartland. I love how Lauren brought Amy INTO Chestnut Hill and I hope she keeps doing it. The contrast of books is quite different, but it's amazing how addicting they both are. Heartland is a dream book for me and I love Amy and Ty. When I was on book 18, I said to myself "They HAVE to get married" lol! At my stables they make us catch and tack up our ponies and I use T-touch before the lesson. It's amazing how much it works. Chestnut Hill keeps (me) on the edge wondering what's going to happen next. I was gutted when I found out that Heartland was ending but Lauren...please continue doing Special Editions! -- Tink
Heartland is a great book. When I read it I find ways it relates to me. As my mum owns a riding school and at times I actually feel I am stuck in the same positon as Amy. I would love to know as much as Amy at times when I ride my comaton pony and he goes crazy. -- rose
I love the Heartland books, they are great I have read all of them at least twice over; I wish it could be made into a movie!! I would pay to watch it!!!!! If Amy was a real person she could do so much; some people need to realize that horses and all animals need to be treated with respect; everything she does is put to helping abused horses. I am a huge fan of the Heartland series, I have read it 17 times. I swear I have! Lauren Brooke is an amazing author! I have cried while reading her books(mostly on the first one) The last part of book three is when I always cry. I have ridden horses for 4 years, and I would die to have a life like Amy's. I am 19 years old and have been reading the Heartland books along with my friend who is 18 since Lauren Brooke first started & I will continue to do so. I love the books & it has taught me so much. I have also laughed, cried, been on the edge of my seat cursing myself for why I aren't reading fast enough to find out what happens next. I was devestated when I read number 20 and discovered it was the end of the Heartland series. But when I found out Lauren was continuing to write more of Amy, Ty, the Family, the horses & the life of Heartland and else where I was over the moon. I am OBSESSED with horses and when I found Heartland I was thrilled. Everything about them is brilliant! Although ALL of the books have made me cry, especially when Amy had to sell storm. My fave horses are Flamenco, Storm, Spartan, Gallant Prince, Promise, Dazzle, Willow, Daybreak, and Spindleberry. I hate that Amy went to college and broke up with Ty. I love Heartland books; I started to read these books in the 7th grade and I am not done yet but that is because I can't find anymore but I won't let my search end till I'm done with the whole series. When I read heartland I feel like I am in Amy's positions making her chooses and dealing with her problems. Sometimes I wonder if this book is about me because it seems like she has some of the same problems as me. But when I read Heartland its' like I am in their world, not mine. Heartland books helped me through--sometimes, somehow, maybe just the thrill of reading the next one, but I don't know, I just know that I love Heartland and want to read all of Lauren's books. Sometimes when I read her books it feels like I am watching a movie--one of those movies that you hope NEVER ends. I think that it would be SOOOOOOo cool if they made Heartland movies like one for each book. -- Autumn
OMG! I use to HATE reading! I still kinda do but for some reason I LOVE the Heartland books! I don't normally cry or anything like that but when I read the 3rd book I think it was I had tear running down my cheeks! I'm not sure if it was the 3rd book--the one with poor Pegasus! I wont spoil it for new readers. ;) I'm only on the 7th book now Out of the Darkness, I love it. Now I really want to know: will she cure Prince! I hope I can catch up before you start writing more and with Spartan the 2nd book! I was saying in my mind "OMG that's a horrible man not taking him back because he was a gelding!" I can now cover a Heartland book in about a week and if I have nothing to do about a day or two! I'm sorry to say I didn't really like Chestnut Hill, I'm not sure why? I'm just not into reading anyway. But Heartland always has an adventure! :) I came across the first book in a stack from my cousin; I was bored and wanted to read, so I started reading it and loved it. Well done! I have read them all so far! I've been collecting them for ages now. The first one I ever read was "Every New Day". I really liked it, so when the first 10 books came as a package out of my school book club I had to get them!!!!!!! I never normally cry at a book but there have been times when the tears were streaming down my face!!! I read a Heartland book in a couple of hours. I read them all mixed up at first but after I got all the ones that are already out, I'm now reading them in the correct order. I started at the beggining of last week and I'm on book 15 now. A new week has just started so I'm keen reading them!!!!! I don't have a favorite book because they are all well written. In the special edition "Beyond the Horizon" ( I think it was ) I was dissappointed that things for Amy and Ty took a downfall with each other ( I won't say what happens because I don't want to spoil it for the people that haven't read it yet!!!!) Anyway it's a really good collection of books to read and I love them to bits. They are brilliant!!! -- jaquie

I absolutely LOVED the Heartland series! I couldn't put the book down, it was a real page turner! I really like the plot Ms. Lauren Brooke made up for the Heartland series. I also like all the gentling process they use, I learned a lot from these books! I have an abused arabian and know I know the the ear-toward-you is listening and head-low is submission. I also like all the natural stuff they use rather than dosing them up with all these IVs. The relationships are great too! I think I like Amy the best because of her confidence, never giving up....! I just adore this series. It is really hard for me to find books I like. I saw a horse on the cover of the 11th book and thought that it had to be good. I mean it has a horse on the cover--any book with a horse on the cover just must be good. I read it and loved it. My mom buys me 2 at a time. I read them in one or two days and then I tell her we need to go to the book store. She is like, "already?" I love the Heartland series and hope to read the Chestnut Hill series next. The whole series are great. I love the different duties of the different horses and I love the relationship between Ty and Amy, but I was really upset when they split up! I hope Lauren Brooke makes them get back together, because they were so good together, especially since they shared the love for helping the horses! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really loved the Heartland series and read and re-read all of the books. But when I ordered "Beyond the Horizon" I was very disappointed that she and Ty broke up. He is as much a part of the series as she is and I don't think cutting him out was a good idea. I haven't read the newer books so maybe Lauren brought him back but if she didn't I know I won't like them as much. Just my opinion. -- Sierra

I love the Heartland series! I have all of the series even the special editions!! I cried on the sad parts, espacially when Amy and Ty broke up...but I think that she should stick with Alfredo!! Keep it up Lauren; you are an awesome writer! -- cowgirl

I absolutely love the Heartland series, I've read 1-15 so far and I can't wait to read the rest of them. My school has them in the library, but I didn't find that out until several weeks after I read the first few books. (They're at the very bottom of a crowded bookshelf.) The way they're written is so real, I just wish there was more to read. The part of the series where there was the accident put me to tears, and the part where Ty was in a coma was so sad. Lauren's a great writer. Keep up the good work Lauren! -- Horselover27
