I really liked this book. It was really sad because Marion died but also because Sugarfoot was left without Mrs. Bell, the only owner he ever knew himself. When Lou sings to him she rediscovers her love for horses and Sugarfoot starts to get better. It formed the foundation for all the books. If Marion were alive in all the other Heartland books, it would be really dull.
