The German version of wikipedia has had an article about Lauren Brooke and sends a few dozen visitors to this site every month. A few days ago they changed the Lauren Brooke article page to redirect to another page -- "Gill Harvey". It looks like Lauren Brooke is a pen-name for another author according to what I've read on the German site. Here's a translation of the article into English. It's computer-translated using babelfish, so it isn't perfect, but it's not too hard to understand. According to Bloomsbury Publishing, Gill Harvey looks like this. I'm not sure whether the Germans are right about this or not, but I guess it is possible.

This is seriously important. It talks about Rose Hill boarding school...is that just a bad translation?

On the untranslated page it has "Rose Hill- Internat für Mädchen und Pferde". I'm pretty sure they're talking about Chestnut Hill, which looks like it's named Rose Hill in the German books. Maybe they don't use the word "Chestnut" a lot in German and renamed it so that it's easier to understand.

That is a great idea---shespeaks good English, and would probably have found some differences in their and our books, and maybe anyone German on the site would have heard of Gill Harvey. It is definately worth a try!

yes I found that too, but the information does not match and the picture is the same. It talks about Warwickshire, nothing about America and other places in England. It talks a little about Horses but more about Egypt. Do you here think it is Lauren Brooke

I think I am going to cry seriously.I went to google.co.uk and typed in gill harvey+heartland and found this page It says that Gill wrote only 8 of the Heartland Books, and a couple of Lucy Daniels books-a series of books I once read about animals and a girl who was adopted to a vetinary clinic-Animal Ark. I loved those when I was 8, but then I moved onto Heartland. By maybe the same author. http://www.bloomsbury.com/childrens/details.asp?isbn=9780747579458&year=2007&beg=1&end=6I wish it was all different people! INcluding Lauren Brooke. PLEASE READ other pages say that she wrote horse care books

Because of the lack of information that I've found on Lauren Brooke, I've thought about the possibility that Lauren Brooke might be a pen-name like Franklin W Dixon but haven't found any real evidence until now. The possibilities: -- Bloomberg and the German wikipedia made a mistake somehow, and the books are actually written by one person named Lauren Brooke. -- Gill Harvey uses Lauren Brooke as a pen-name and the Bloomberg page hasn't been updated since she wrote the 8th book. OR -- Lauren Brooke is ghost-written by several different authors. (Which would explain why there are books written in other languages first)
