This was an awesome book. It was actually the first book that I read of the series. In this book Lani visits her family for the winter holidays. When her parents find out that her grades are not so hot, they tell her they are transferring her to a anti-horse boarding school in California. Lani and her friends try everything they can to help her stay but when her dad comes to have a meeting with her principal Lani makes a big mistake and breaks her arm. After that her parents are certain about her transferring. But with more help from her friends Lani convinces her family that Chestnut Hill is where she belongs.
