Malory doesn't really have such a good horse until she comes with Ali Carmichael, Director of Riding at Chestnut Hill, and Dylan Walsh, Ali's niece, to horse stables where the school buys their horses. There, Malory meets Tybalt, an extremely nervous horse. Because of her talent at looking into horse's hearts and finding their true feelings -- and because of the fact that Tybalt looks almost exactly like a horse she had once been neighbor to -- Malory persuades Ms. Carmichael to put him on loan for a few months and see if Malory can help keep Tybalt at Chestnut Hill. With help from Amy Flemming, an amazing intellectual who has a talent similar to Malory's (and who starred in the series HEARTLAND, also by Lauren Brooke), Malory is soon encouraged that maybe coming to Chestnut Hill was actually for the better... and that you can find a friend in a horse.
